Gythio is a beautiful town in the dept of the gulf of Laconia with an insular character. Harbor of Laconia now for hundreds of years, traditional, with neo-classical buildings and fish taverns, built at the Koumarou Mountain's roots. Narrow aisles with stairs, the Cranai Island with its imposing lighthouse, with a small pine wood and the Tsannetakis Tower - all that make up the beauty of the today's town.

The harbor of Gythio is connected via ferryboats with Piraeus - Crete - Kythira and suits fine for supplying boats. Two kilometers from Gythio, the area of Mavrovouni with the spotless sea attracts each visitor's interest. At the seaside of Mavrovounio you might walk, bicycle, go surfing or do some other sports. Along the beach there are taverns and other shops offering coffee, refreshments and snacks.
